Structural Insulated Panel (SIPs) provider SIPS@Clays has begun installation of the first phase of sustainable homes to be built as part of a major mixed-use development in the North Leeds suburb of Adel.
The Skipton based company, which leads the way in SIPs provision in the UK, has been appointed by contractor Eternal Homes Ltd on behalf of property developer, Advent Developments, to SIPs design, fabricate and install 20 energy efficient homes at Adel Square.
Forming part of this ambitious regeneration development which is located between Tile Lane and East Moor Lane, the three storey, four bedroomed SIPs homes are being constructed using the Kingspan TEK® SIPs building system and will create an enclave of sustainable family homes designed to blend beautifully with the rest of the scheme.
Phase 1 of the SIPs installation will see the first four homes taking just six weeks to be erected with a further five scheduled to begin in June.
Ian Clay, Founding Partner, SIPS@Clays said: “We are delighted to be working with Eternal Homes Ltd and Advent Developments on this major redevelopment project in Leeds.
“The vision for Adel Square typifies sustainable regeneration and the inclusion of 20 high performance SIPs homes recognises the growing desire for energy efficient volume construction in the UK. It is reassuring to see developers like Advent Developments, embracing this and including SIPs homes within their plans.
“Sustainability is not just about methods of construction and energy efficiency but also about sustaining the local economy and so it is great to be working alongside both Eternal Homes Ltd and Advent Developments who, like us, are firmly rooted in Yorkshire.
“We can’t wait to see Adel Square become a new and thriving community in Leeds”.
